For our families first vacation we decided we wanted to take our camper and tough it out close to home. We landed at the Holiday Trav-L Park in Virginia Beach and it was awesome!
Virginia Beach is a coastal city with a population just above 450,000. Virginia Beach is a resort city with miles of beaches and hundreds of hotels and restaurants along its oceanfront. Holiday Trav-L Park is located right in the heart of the city close to all the local attractions and beaches.
Family Campground in Virginia Beach, VA
Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia
Date / Temp: We camped here for 6 nights in June and the weather was perfect with temperatures in the upper 80’s to the mid 90’s.
Amenities: The campground offered many amenities. There was 4 pools, 4 bath houses, laundry room, gift shop, restaurant, playground and even putt putt on site. The campground offers private beach access just a couple of miles down the road.
Cell: Our current cell provider is Verizon and the speeds were spotty throughout the camp. The resort also provided free Wifi as well.
Noise: The campsites are pretty close to each other in some areas, but we never experienced any loud noise from other campers. The campground is in direct line with Naval Station Oceana’s runway so you will experience jets landing and taking off.
Grocery / Errands: There are many stores and gas stations within a mile radius of the resort.
Dog Friendly: Pets are allowed, but only on non cabin sites. (check website for details)
Entertainment: Most days were spent by the pool, but the options were limitless. Less than a mile from the resort, was Ocean Breeze water park, local beaches. Virginia Beach has plenty of entertainment for adults and families.
